MDM Sand & Gravel Ltd. was founded in 2019 by brothers Miguel and Darrel, who grew up in the small community of St. Malo, Manitoba. Proudly Métis-owned, MDM is rooted in family, community, and the land we come from.

Our connection to the aggregate industry started early, through years of hands-on experience in the family business and working alongside our father in his companies. Over time, we formed a desire to build a business that could serve local contractors, homeowners, farmers, and communities with dependable aggregate products and heavy construction services.

St. Malo sits near the edges of ancient Lake Agassiz, where rich glacial deposits helped shape the landscape and continue to supply the materials we produce today. Sand, gravel, limestone, and other aggregates are the foundation of the roads, yards, homes, farms, and infrastructure people rely on every day. We take pride in being part of that work.

At MDM, we value community and unity. We were inspired by other local businesses that not only served their customers well, but also gave back to the communities around them. That same mindset guides how we operate today. We believe in doing honest work, building strong relationships, and continuing to grow with every project we take on.
